The basic service is 20Mbps

Our principles of community fibre were developed over a few years, through various discussions on Smart Cities approaches and technologies, including topics such as Curated Precinct Management and Circular Economies. Underlying to any Smart City (or modern community) is the necessity for Broadband Infrastructure. The principle is thus that any community that wishes to participate and flourish in the modern world, need to start with Broadband Internet connectivity.

1. Fees must Fall: We do believe that current telecommunications models are at the expense of the consumer. We do not subscribe by definition to business and technology models that adds cost, layer by layer, ultimately to be paid for by the subscriber. We firmly believe that the notion of a Data Bundles is a fictional construct that should not be sold to consumers.
2. Community ownership: The notion of community ownership of Telecommunications Infrastructure is a difficult business model to comprehend, but ultimately, we subscribe to the notion that the only road to ultimate community benefit is through community ownership, and that the business models of the telecommunications provider must adapt to the benefit of the community.
3. Circular Economy: We’ve seen many projects being constructed for which the suburb of the construction project receives no benefit. Such projects in our view is not community nor suburb upliftment. Investment funds into a suburb must ultimately flow into the community that resides in this suburb. The investment must further establish other mechanisms that will benefit the community in the long run.

Fibre to the Home (FTTH) is a broadband technology whereby fixed-line optical fibre is installed into homes, on a per-suburb basis. We define broadband as at least 20Mbps and install the latest telecommunications technologies.
